“Alté Living”—as they call things that are new to society—has become quite an interesting lifestyle in modern Accra lately. People want to explore more and lately, visiting art galleries checks the “Alté” box. These are galleries in Accra you must visit.

  1. Nubuke Foundation

Located in East Legon, Nubuke Foundation is a Ghanaian contemporary art and cultural institution. The Foundation serves as a nexus for preserving, recording, and promoting contemporary arts and culture. The Foundation has a wide range of programs supporting Ghana's arts, culture, and heritage and strives to support the practice of Ghanaian artists: young, mid, and late careers. 

2. Gallery 1957

Presenting a program of exhibitions, installations, and performances by the region's most significant artists, Gallery 1957 bridges the gap between local and international audiences. Located inside one of Ghana’s prestigious hotels, Kempinski, the gallery has a very welcoming atmosphere. 

3. Amba Gallery

Amba Gallery is a contemporary African art gallery. A multidimensional creative space, it is designed with the intent to exhibit, promote, and educate diverse audiences about the provenance of Africa’s art history and ancient design heritage. Amba Gallery is on the 2nd floor of The Galleria, Kempinski Hotel.

4. The Mix Hub

Nestled in the heart of Osu, the capital’s most dynamic and trendy neighborhood,  The Mix Design Hub creates a cosmopolitan gathering place showcasing innovation through art. 

5. Berj Art Gallery

Founded in 1996 by Joyce Quarshie, an avid art collector, Berj Art Gallery is home to some of Ghana's leading artists, showcasing their paintings, sculptures and photographs in a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere. The Berj Art Gallery is located in Cantonments, Accra. 

6. ADA Contemporary Art Gallery
